Fall break on the farm

Travel

It doesn’t get much better than fall break on Nana and Pop Pop’s farm. And it was a sibs trip, which hasn’t happened in over 15 years, so it was extra special. Fair warning, there is no DIY in this post, just some beautiful landscapes, fall color and some happy memories.

After two hours at the rental car place…switching cars because we had too much stuff and a couple car seat installation fails, we were off!
I was pretty excited for Nana to meet Emma.
There were a lot of leaves to rake, and it took them the whole day, but it was a pretty cool time for my boys.

My bros hooked up the cart for a tractor ride through the “forest.”
My little guy thought he could push.
I have lots of fun memories of wagon rides as a child, and I’m glad my brother took the boys out. They started higher and higher each time they went up, and that wagon has been around longer than I have, so I had some “eek” moments, but the boys couldn’t get enough.

That barn light…

Emma’s first experience with hay.

She can’t wait to get out there with the boys.
Color?
or black and white? I couldn’t decide.
The littles are in the right corner with their aunt and the biggest is in the left corner climbing the ladder. He’s our little dare devil.
This is my mad boy when he wants to go to the “barn that makes dirt steam.” You will see why I wasn’t excited about rushing over in the next pic. But I did, and it made his day. He just needed a shower right afterward.

Baby love!

It wouldn’t be a farm trip without some tractor and bobcat driving.

This is my grandpa’s ’59 F100 (I think that’s right), Blue Barney, that has less than 10,000 miles on it.
Years of hard work in my grandpa’s boots.
Emma was helping Nana in the kitchen.
A little iPad picture-taking practice.
I joked that this looks like a JC Penney’s photo background, but it was right outside their church.
Our favorite place on the farm: swinging after church.
We got to celebrate my sister’s birthday, too.

So proud of these two, ages 93 and 94, who have been married for 73 years in December and they are still running the farm basically on their own.
Love my sibs! So thankful we got to spend some time together on the farm. #redmailboxfarm14
