Outdoor Spray Chalk Painting

Holidays, Summer

Yesterday was our last day of school so I surprised the kids with some outdoor spray chalk painting. Still can’t believe it’s June, but ready or not, summer is here and it’s time for some outdoor fun!

Rustoleum sent me this chalk paint set to try out and it’s perfect for driveway and sidewalk art as well as outdoor games!

I was excited to ring in summer with some driveway art and went with a sun for the base – in hindsight I would have just done an outline instead of filling it in since it took a lot of paint. This is what I accomplished with one can of yellow.

And then I was able to fill it in when I used two more. I also didn’t account for the car oil on my driveway – oops! The good news is that I think the chalk soaked it up and it might be gone now.

My daughter had a good time doing her own design. It’s a good a fine motor activity for little ones!

Then I used some pink and blue for the letters.

And topped it off with some white and it gave it a little bit of a tie-dyed effect.

Not sure about my career as a chalk artist – I decided that next time to need to use some stencils (Heidi Swapp has some great chalk art stencils!), but it was still fun and the boys liked it!

My friend’s kids also had some fun decorating their driveway and street!

They left a message for their dad when he got home from work – too cute. It’s taken some time for it to come off the asphalt so you may want to use some caution when using it there.

We are having a summer party in a few weeks and I’m excited to use these for the water games on the grass. I will be able to make some fun designs and lanes, etc. I guess the kids can use them, too. 😉

If you like this post, please pin it! And if you want to try out this chalk paint set, you can get it on Amazon.

Happy summer!
