Baby Girl Nursery, Phase 2

Baby & Kids Rooms, DIY, Room Design

I’m nearing the end of Nurserypalooza! Phase 2 included crown molding, wall decor and a few DIY projects.
I hired someone to install the crown molding and then painted it myself to cut down on costs. I don’t think I would do that again at 9 months pregnant.
I was pretty happy about this find: “Emma” sign/hooks was on sale for $11 at Home Goods. I just added some little flowers. The outfit and hat were an etsy purchase.
I can’t decorate a room without some type of photo collage. The mirror is from Home Goods and all the frames are from Hobby Lobby.
I used tulle and a flower from my baby shower to make the oval frame, later I added some mint tulle to the flower. My neighbor gave me the cross.

I made the barrette holder with one of the Hobby Lobby frames.
I didn’t want to do a lot of nailing in the wallpaper and I don’t like hanging things above the crib so I got a decal from etsy for that space. The wallpaper is textured with some glitter so it didn’t stick very well at first, but a little mod podge did the trick. My Aunt Jan made the beautiful blanket.
My dear cousin Carina made this wreath for my baby shower. If you’ve made felt flowers you know this took many hours of work! She also gave me the rattle bear, which is too cute so it has to be displayed (maybe someday Emma will get to play with it). The video monitor will also go on this shelf eventually.
The “It’s a girl” banner was also from my shower (from Carina). It will work for at least a year, right?
This tulle flower was one of my DIY projects. I will post a tutorial later.
This is the other side of the wallpaper wall. The rocker (Phase 3) will go in that space.
I went with some functional decor to display some of the many hair accessories. I will post a tutorial on this headband holder later.

I had to spruce up this Pottery Barn lamp a bit. I don’t know if Pottery Barn would be happy or annoyed by that.  Later I decided that I didn’t like it and changed it to this to incorporate some mint tulle as well: revised lamp shade.

I used these baskets in the boys’ nurseries with gingham liners. That didn’t go with my decor scheme so I primped them with some ribbon and tulle. Later I decided I didn’t like all these bows so I changed a few. Check out the Nursery Reveal to see the changes.
I added the bows on the bed skirt to add some subtle pink touches. The bows may be a problem when I wash the skirt, but I will deal with that later.
And then I was off to have a baby!
Her “going home” outfit was all laid out for her.
Phase 3 will be up soon!

Ahhh, love it!! All the special details you incorporated are just beautiful! Love your maternity pics too! I need some tips on headband/hair clip storage. I've always just thrown them all in a drawer or small container, but would love to display them in a cute way this time around like yours. Great job on everything! After seeing the adorable things that your aunt and cousin made (oh my, that wreath!), I think DIY skills might be genetic. 🙂
