Christmas Mantle and Menu

Decor, Holidays, Winter

It’s been a while since I’ve posted! I can explain, but I’m not going to right now. No one wants to read that Christmas week. So instead I’m going to share photos of my Christmas mantle and our menu line-up for the big day.
I always stress over the mantle, it’s the last thing that comes together, and I have to give myself a deadline and force myself to not touch it after deadline.
So, here it is.

Today I saw some cute candy canes hanging from a mantle on Pinterest and thought…Oh, that would be perfect, but it’s not happening this year. It’s done.
I got the great print from The Journey Unexpected. The candle holders are from Pottery Barn and the frame is from Hobby Lobby.
My cousin Carina gave me this wreath (she made and added the felt flowers), and I painted the “j” and “y” I got from Joanne’s and outlined them with crushed silver glitter from Hobby Lobby. The mini bell garland is from Crate & Barrel.

I scored the “be merry” banner from jane.com. I love it when I can find a good deal that’s cheaper than making it myself.

We’re hosting my parents and three siblings from California and Texas this week and I’m pretty excited. Putting together our menu was easy because the last two years we hosted, the stomach flu struck us all by Christmas Day (we should have played the lottery those two years…or maybe not) so a few of these are repeats from ones we never got to make.
And I should clarify, Hubby is pretty much a chef so he takes care of the real food, and my sister, mom and I are in charge of the sweets. Sweet deal, right?

I will probably be posting some photos on Insta along the way. Click here to follow me or you can find me: “time2diy.”
