After slowly getting Easter decor down (almost there!), I’m ready for some summer decor! This is a fun and easy wreath that is great for summer or even a teacher appreciation gift that I shared over at Lolly Jane blog last month.
I love a good wreath, but sometimes they can be time-consuming and crazy-making (I don’t know about you, but I’ve felt close to losing my mind while yarn wrapping). This one is cute and can be put together in 30 minutes or less. Win-win!
Supplies:
- Wreath form
- Ribbon or fabric
- Flowers
- Any type of cord, jute or twine
- “Hello” Letters
- Scissors and wire cutters
- Hot glue gun
- Paint and brush (optional, to paint letters)
- Wire and felt (optional, to hang the wreath on a hook)
This thick fabric ribbon is available in a few colors and patterns (sometimes 50 percent off) at Michaels. I liked this one because it reminded me of the ocean, and it’s the color scheme I’m using in my backyard.
I used the new (to me at least) Elmer’s high temp gun, and I liked it, but it’s crazy hot so that’s why I used the ribbon roll to protect against blisters. They advertised that there won’t be any of those pesky strings, and I was skeptical, but it turns out when it’s almost 400 degrees and liquid, there are no strings!
Jute and flowers are from Hobby Lobby. Flowers are so pricey so I always wait until they are 50 percent off.
I used a little hot glue to attach the jute before I wrapped it, and that’s all you need to hold the flowers in place.
Letters are from Michaels, but not the color I wanted so I painted them with FolkArt “linen” and then used a little hot glue to attach them.
And finally, an optional step if you want to do a hook mount: hot glue a wire loop underneath some felt or fabric on the back of the wreath.
And that’s it! All ready for your front door, entryway, or even a classroom.
