I recently found this cute little hooks and caddy number at Home Goods, and I’m trying to get organized so it was perfect, but it needed a little makeover.
It’s a cabinet panel and I wish I had thought of it and DIY’d it myself, but you know Home Goods, it was a great deal so I don’t feel too bad.
Even though I liked the wood stain, I needed it to be more gray to match the space so I did a little #makeityourownDIY with BB Frosch chalk paint powder and Behr paint. It was pretty simple, I just removed the screws and mixed the paint. I dipped the brush in water before the paint and then I did a thin layer so some of the original stain could peek through. All I needed was a few brush strokes and it dried so quickly, that’s what I love about BB Frosch! Then I put the screws back on and wah-la!
Right now we’re using it for purse, keys and hats, and the caddies are for bills to pay (left is ASAP, right is soon), checks to cash, and coupons, but I may switch it to an “important papers for school” area or add some clips on the front. Still figuring out how to organize kids and school stuff, and that’s another post.
But for now, at least I have a space to drop my purse and keys! And we haven’t been late with bills. My hubby wanted the bills somewhat visible so we didn’t have an “out of sight, out of mind” situation.
Personalized key sign was a deal I got on Very Jane. Thank you, Amanda, for introducing me to that addiction. 😉

Oooh, great find, and I love the look with the chalk paint! Haha, you’re welcome re: Jane. That website shows up on my credit card statement a little too often for Kevin’s liking. 😉
