I’ve still got a few rooms to work on in our new house so I’m excited to be a guest participant in the Calling It Home One Room Challenge again this year! It forces me to get a space done on deadline, which I love!
I really enjoyed finishing my daughter’s blush and gold vintage glam room last year.
Especially when this was the before situation…
It was great to get her room all done in six weeks, and she still loves it.
I did a lot of DIY in this space, here are some of the tutorials if you’d like to check them out:

- Tea Table and Stools

This year’s project will be our guest room. It doubles as a craft room (that I share with my kids) so it’s a little bit of a tricky space. My goal is to make it pretty and homey for our guests while maximizing the craft storage.
Here is what it looks like right now.
Pretty basic.
I’ve been wanting to do some wall treatment, so that will be happening. I will keep the couch and rug.
And I will also be keeping this bookcase and hutch buffet, but I will be giving them a makeover! Yippee!
We used to have a craft table here, but just recently removed it because I got this buffet from my grandmother and thought it would be a better use of this space to tuck away some craft supplies. I rarely used the craft table – it just became a junk magnet tabletop, and it was 8 feet and huge so I’m happy to have this buffet instead.
Notice the big black TV. Will have to figure out a way to cover that.
I’ve been happy with this closet turned craft closet, but I will probably be changing up the colors, and moving some things around. I realized I never posted about this. Oops! I never technically finished it, but I will make sure to do that soon.
This is a working draft of the color scheme and ideas I have so far.
I’m excited to get started! I usually do the walls first, so I will probably order some wall paper and figure out the treatment and trim. I’ve got to start painting those furniture items as well – I’m excited to see those transformations.
Would love for you to follow along over the next six weeks and you can also check out the other makeovers over at One Room Challenge blog! I will be doing some sneak peeks on Instagram as well.

Your daughter’s room turned out wonderful! What a great space. I love your plans for this room. Sometimes the little things make such a huge impact on a space. I’ll be following when I’m not killing myself trying to make progress on our dining room.
