Nursery DIY: 2 Barrette Holders

Baby & Kids Rooms, DIY, Room Design

These are the last two hair accessory tutorials I have to share in the Nursery DIY series. This time it’s for barrettes. It’s so important to have all these hair accessories organized, right!?

This one is pretty easy. I picked up this backless frame at Hobby Lobby for 50 percent off, of course. I first cut and placed ribbon to see how much spacing I needed. I probably should have made markings on the frame, but I was in a “wing it” kind of mood. Then I hot glued the ribbon on top and weaved it like a pie crust or like those placemats you probably made in elementary school. After a lot of over/under positioning and gluing, it was done!

The second barrette holder was a gift made by my friend Lori, blogger at Time 2 Plan A Party (check out her awesome kid birthday and dinner party ideas!). I like this one because it works with the bigger loopy barrettes, and also because you can extend it! Lots of room for all the barrettes Baby Girl will have after she grows out of the baby bald stage. And I love the big “E” with the polka dots. This one will work in her room for many years.

My next post is a break from functional DIY…dolling up a lamp shade!
