I love this floor lamp and shade from Pottery Barn Kids, but I needed to integrate some of the nursery accent colors so in Phase 2 I tried adding some bows and roses.
But this wasn’t working, so I decided to abort all the roses and add in some tulle (when it comes to Girl Nursery, my motto is, “when in doubt, try tulle.”). I had some mint tulle that I had saved from a baby gift. Love it when I can save money and reuse.
I wrapped the tulle around tight and sewed it on each corner. They are ugly stitches because I was just going to sew the rose on top to cover it. I could have used hot glue and it would have been a lot faster, but I didn’t want to ruin the shade in case I change her accent colors, which I’m sure I (or she) will eventually.
The transformation…I like that there is now some mint green to tie in with the wallpaper.
Sorry about the color differences, that’s a great example of what happens when you shoot at different times of the day or when the lights are on.
I love the detailing on this PBK lamp.
